Mercaptopurine是一种硫嘌呤衍生物，具有抗肿瘤和免疫抑制活性。Mercaptopurine代谢产物6-硫代鸟嘌呤-5′-磷酸(6-thioGMP)和6-硫代氨基嘌呤(T-IMP)通过次黄嘌呤-鸟嘌呤磷酸核糖基转移酶(HGPRT)代谢Mercaptopurine产生，抑制核苷酸间转化和嘌呤的重新合成，从而阻断嘌呤核苷酸的形成，抑制DNA合成。
